How can you be a part of Active Salmon Arm?
Active. Your Way. Everday. Explore the many different ways you can become active. Our community has a vast variety of indoor and outdoor facilities for you to be ACTIVE.
Get active on the Shuswap Trail - This summer the first link along the new Shuswap Trail will be ready for you to get out and start exploring. The Larch Hills Traverse connects Salmon Arm and Sicamous via a 35-kilometer four-season cross-country wilderness trail for mountain biking, hiking, equestrian use, snowshoeing and skiing.
The trail ties into the Larch Hills Nordic area, as well as the Old Sicamous Highway Trail along the lake just west of Sicamous.
Construction started last summer and is sheduled for completion this year, with trailhead access from Sicamous, Salmon Arm, and the Larch Hills Nordic Chalet parking area.

“Regular
brisk walking for 30 minutes on four to seven days a week will reduce
the risk of cardiovascular disease, diabetes, obesity,
osteoporosis, and some cancers. Habitual walkers also benefit from
increased energy levels,
more stamina, better sleep, and lower
stress levels. No wonder 69% of Canadians reported walking for
exercise, which makes it our most popular physical activity.
So,
what are you waiting for? Let's get started!”, from
the Canadian
Health Network
web
site.
If your not sure how to get started, Canada's Physical Activity Guide is a great web site for beginers and regulars.
